Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay, born September 15, 1915 was raised in Ogden Utah. Fawn MCKAY, brought up in the Mormon Church's First Family used her literary talent and research abilities to create the intriguing biographical psycho-historical study of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 with the title: No Man Knows My History, she used both. The title comes from the funeral sermon of Joseph Smith who was the founder of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. His audience was shocked by his declaring: "You don't even know my name. There is no way to know my feelings." Nobody knows my story. The truth is I'm not even sure. Fawn (29 an age) stated that in the time after her confessional moment, three-hundred writers have risen to the event. Some have attacked him, some have deified him; some have even tried their hands at diagnosing him. The problem isn't that documents are lacking however they're in complete contradiction. The process of assembling these documents, by sifting through third-party and first-hand sources, fitting Mormons' narratives to other people's historical context - can be a challenge. It's both thrilling, and also instructive. FawnBrodie took on this professional task with enthusiasm and energy. Thaddeus Stewards, which was the product of her research and writing, made her a world known author. The Devil's Drive (1959) The Southern Scourge. Thomas Jefferson. A personal history of Richard Nixon (1974) as well as the posthumously Richard Nixon.
