Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz is also known as Winona Ryder is a native of Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother who were both authors as well as editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father is from her Jewish family. The actress is the sister to Uria who is half-sibling to Jubal and Sunyata. The time Ryder was just seven years old, her family moved into Mendocino County California. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder developed into a fervent book reader because there was no TV. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of twelve years old. In 1986, she was offered her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied in high school. The hope was that she would be able to change this. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. It was a dream she pursued. Ryder made her breakthrough with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in a variety of films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
